The work of Pepper Reed

About

Painting is a way to express what is bubbling over inside me. For the most part, my paintings aren’t of actual things but of emotions that I don’t have the right words to express. The process of putting paint to canvas, and often adding the bits and bobs left over from daily life, frees me from the fears and feelings I spent many years trying to tame and control. My hope is that others can identify with what is on the canvas; that they can relate my impressions to their own lives.

I think a short story connected to each piece could be interesting and instructive.

I’m excited about your work, and about it being the means for your intimate expressions. I understand and empathize, as a fellow artist. I encourage you to dedicate more time to create. Call it therapy, if you will, in order to justify devoting time to expressing yourself. I love you. Aunt Eileen
